- The backlist refers to those books we reviewed priored to the 2008-2009 season.
- The backlist is arranged by the subject categories which you see on your immediate left. A few of the books are cross-listed.
- Each category begins with books for the youngest children and moves on to books for older ones.
- Because we promote reading aloud to children early and often, we suggest giving your child a chance to first hear a book earlier than others may recommend.
- Sound predates content, and a child may enjoy the sound of the story without full comprehension of the text, its nuances or its potential for discussion -- all of which can and will come later for that same child. (See What Age, What Book?)
